Working Out To Warm Up
I got reminded just how hard the CrossFit Warmup is recently.
Three rounds of ten pullups, ten ring dips (it just says dips, but why not), ten pushups, ten back extensions, ten situps, ten squats . . . and I threw in ten inverse rows. I tried to do one of my favorite workouts at full speed after that and got nowhere compared to going into the same fresh.
Partly, it’s maddening that after doing that warmup for a while it still kicks my butt so badly. But that frustration just makes me want to work harder to get strong. So I guess it’s not such a bad thing.
Plus, the looks on the faces of people in the gym who watch me do those ring dips is kind of funny: a mix of shock and awe.
